By the time the two pokemon reached the tree house, other teams were already gathered around. Leaning against the tree, addressing the rescuers, wasn’t Mike, but Fresnel. The ampaharos seemed exhausted, but there was a grim determination in his voice as it reached them.

“… So for now, I will, ah, be your guild leader, as Mike has gone to see his mother.” Many pokemon raised their voices in shock, confusion, and anger at Mike’s apparent abandonment of them, and the village, in this time of crisis. Stiffening in anger, Spring had barley opened her mouth before Whisper’s paw covered it.

“Shh. We don’t know the whole story.” His tone made Spring blush angrily, the embarrassment of knowing he was right but not wanting to admit it irritating her. It was true, for all they knew he had gone to ask his mother for help in Tao. If that was the case, being angry at him would be as heartless as being angry at Chill for leaving to care for his injured, younger sister.

If he HAD simply left because he couldn’t handle the pressure, though, Spring would be royally ticked.

“Whatever…” She muttered irritably. Whisper dropped his paw and turned his gaze back to Fresnel.

“Settle down!” Fresnel called, reeling back in everyone’s attention. “Even with a guild leader absent, there is still work to be done! The main mission here is helping Winston – yes, the tailor – and Maple look for survivors! The others…” Pausing, he drew two letters from his bag. “Missy needs help controlling the children in the castle. Then, there’s an invitation from Miss Anna to help at a magic show at Alamola Bay for an INCREDIBLY generous sum of money. Good luck, whichever you choose – let’s get to work!”

The group of rescuers dispersed, discussing with their team members which job to take. Spring could hear that quite a few were interested in the high-paying magic show job. Typical, although the bulbasaur could perfectly understand the desire to get money to rebuild their lost homes and such. Still, she couldn’t just leave, it seemed… wrong, somehow.

Of the remaining two, only one made sense. Neither pokemon were really suited for handling rowdy groups of children – Spring often ended up making them cry with her bluntness, and Whisper was liable to accidentally hurt one of the babies with his scythe and claws, which shone with a deadly beauty. That left…

“Rescuing?” Whisper questioned, despite him already knowing.

“Rescuing.” Spring nodded.

Wow, another one already? Aren't you lucky.

Ahaha, wow... I find it so funny to compare my style of drawing to that of those who own the cameod teams.

Yes, I know the last mission involved children. But there's a big difference between caring for them and rescuing them.

Ah, thanks so much for including Sirene and Lear! X3

But I agree, caring for children is more difficult than rescuing them. XD
