Also, DON'T BE LIKE ME. If you suddenly come upon a potentially dangerous animal, BACK. AWAY. Don't just stand there like I did!
This whole situation lasted about two seconds. I'm used to the local wildlife around my house, and vice-versa, so my fight-or-flight instinct didn't kick in immediately. It didn't help that I'm quite familiar with that Raccoon (I call him Bratty 'cause he is) and he has never shown any hostility towards... anyone, really. Even the dog. Regardless, anyone who finds themselves in a similar situation should quickly and quietly retreat.
